CEBIOR FMDU has been used as a place to hold an undergraduate program. Mostly it is related to education and forming of cadres from undergraduate student in daily research activities. The students may come from FMDU or other faculties in Diponegoro University.
This program comprises:
- Lectures and examination for postgraduate students.
- Postgraduate students practice in Cytogenetic and Molecular Genetics, Immunology and Instrumentality.
- Education for residents of Clinical Pathology (CEBIOR and GAKI laboratory held a two-weeks-internship for these students respectively)
- Specifically for Master program on Genetic Counseling twinning or sticking with some centers overseas, lectures with free internet connection, practical work both in laboratory and with patients are held at CEBIOR.
Laboratory Analysts Training
Since Biotechnology laboratory was established, 5 technicians have been trained in Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, and Immunology inside the country or even overseas. The training also encompasses reagents preparation so that they are ready to assist laboratory technicians in services and also research. To anticipate partnership with overseas scientists, they also join an English course inside the Faculty and are financed by CEBIOR. The laboratory technicians are persevering with training inside the country and overseas to keep on improving their abilities. A technician has even received a scholarship from RUNMC in Nijmegen for Molecular and Cytogenetic three-months-training especially in prenatal diagnosis.
The improvement in abilities and skills of CEBIOR staffs are achieved by training and attending scientific programs inside or outside the country. Some staffs have already attended training in AMC Amsterdam, RUNMC Nijmegen, Vrije University Medical centre, Amsterdam, Erasmus Medical Centre, Rotterdam, Prince of Wales Hospital Sydney, UKM Malaysia, MIND Institute, UC Davis, USA, Tottori University, Japan, and KK Hospital, Singapore.
In house training/Hands on training
Many staff members of FMDU especially postgraduate students have been trained in CEBIOR. Laboratory training for technicians and scientists from outside of the university/hospital is also offered. Some centers already sent their staff such as from University of Sumatra Utara Medan, Padjadjaran University Bandung, and Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Yogya. Infertility teams of UGM and Permata Hati foundation have sent their staff to join courses on Cytogenetics. Laboratory technicians from Padjadjaran University, North Sumatra University, Santosa Hospital Bandung West Java and Prodia Laboratory have also joined training activities in CEBIOR for several months.
